Dates for your diary: a 2023 festival update

As you may already know, Queenstown Writers Festival is meant to be a biennial event, but despite our best intentions we’ve decided to put on a mini-festival for 2023!

After the hugely successful 2022 festival we have been blown away by the interest and enthusiasm from locals, writers and visitors to be part of our QWF community. We’ve had so many wonderful requests and ideas that we just couldn’t help ourselves.

We have got lots of exciting plans underway and are looking forward to announcing a mix of workshops and presentations soon. In the meantime, please pencil the dates November 11 and 12 into your calendar.

We also want to provide an update on the small team of volunteer trustees who organise Queenstown Writers Festival. Bethany Rogers, one of our founding trustees and an absolute stalwart of the festival, is now taking a well-deserved break from her trustee role to focus on writing a novel. We miss her already but she will continue working with us on festival matters as needed.

Tanya Surrey continues in her role as chairperson, supported by trustees Chris Fitzpatrick, Debbie Jamieson and Hamish McDonald (the elusive accountant who keeps our financial books in ship shape order). We will also have some new trustees coming on board soon.
